Reflection: Ads

This week I wrote my ad for my website. The focus of my ads was to get my audience the exact things they are looking for. I think being more specific and straight to the point to will avoid confusion.   I learned this week that to effectively reach potential customers, your text ads should be specific, relevant, attractive, and empowering. This article shares best practices for writing successful text ads and common mistakes to avoid. I learned that I could make short videos showcasing a variety of my products for my ads. This way I could utilize my ad space and also show more of my products which will be to my benefit. This week I have learned a lot of things about google ads.

Reflection: Google Ads Keywords

This week I learned a lot of things from my classmates on Google Ads keywords. I learned that keywords being broad not always make it a bad thing. You still want people to find your product and having things too narrow can make it so others cannot find your website. The only problem with having keywords that are too broad is that you are paying for clicks that will likely not go anywhere. It is a fine balance of keeping it broad enough that people can find you but narrow enough that you are not paying for people not wanting to shop for items not on your website. I learned that being specific is a good strategy for your keywords, but never too specific. I think it is very important to include negative keywords to improve results. Finally, a crucial point is to include the specific place where you want your ads to be shown. Reflection: Legal Structures

I learned that sole proprietorship legal structure is easier to keep records for, because there's less to keep track of. There are also no corporate business taxes involved, because they are not a corporation. This structure is best for people who want to start small, but if they ever decide to expand their business or join their business with someone else they would have to consider a different legal structure, such as a partnership. I have learned that it is important to keep track of taxes. When keeping records having an accountant will help to keep you accountable. Honesty goes a long way even though there are some laws that make things hard. With continuing to be honest you save yourself from having fraud. It is better to get someone paid to do the paperwork so that things turn out right. I think that sole proprietorship is the way for me currently until further notice.

Reflection: Site Design

Some things that stood out to me during this week’s lesson about site design was that taking away distractions from a web page is very important. As users can easily be distracted by the slightest thing, they find unusual. If the color scheme does not go well it might drive some customers away. Depending on what colors you use you can influence your customer's emotions and encourage them to do what you want.   I learned having a white background is the best because it can keep users focused on the item which I know is the paramount reason why the site the page built. Cutting all or limiting distraction on a web page is very key to a successful business. I also learned that having a drop-drown on a site will helps give users more options to choose from.  Also including feedback section on my site would be important because I will give people the avenue to directly express their grievances and their displeasure and suggestions on how to satisfy them.
